    We are looking for a professional and ambitious Risk Specialist to join our Risk Engineering team. The successful candidate will be adept at conducting risk assessments of risks to identify hazards/exposures and sharing this expertise with their underwriting partners.     How you will create impact:

  • Conducting equipment breakdown assessments of small to medium risks to identify hazards/exposures that allow your underwriting partners to make risk selection, rating and pricing decisions.
  • Inspecting boilers and pressure vessels in accordance with provincial regulations, applicable codes, and standards.
  • Providing recommendations for controlling and reducing risk, improving operating and maintenance standards of various equipment and regulatory or code deficiencies identified during periodic inspections etc.
  • Establishing positive relationships with clients and maintain strong relationships with internal staff and external service providers.
  • Coaching, training and developing team members as you pursue your own self-improvement journey

    • To join our team:

  • In-service Commission issued by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI).
  • Qualified to conduct periodic inspections in Ontario (valid Certificate of Competency).
  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mining, Electrical or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within the equipment breakdown insurance industry.
  • Experience with assessing complex risks in power generation, mining, oil and gas industries an asset.
  • CIP and/or CRM designation an asset.
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

  • Detail oriented work that requires a high degree of mental concentration for extended periods of time.
  • You will provide support to clients who are experiencing a personal or financial loss. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.
  • You are required to have a valid driver's license.
  • Role requires lifting, physical exertion at a moderate level.
  • You will travel occasionally.
