Thought for today

Thought for today

THE EPIC FAIL OF MANKIND

On the days when it's not raining, | get
out onto my front porch and long ramp
and | walk up and down in my pursuit of

mastering my cane.

While | do this, | think about a lot of things.
Today | thought about the human race and
how, with all the amazing technological
advances that have been made, we are still
a planet of human primates, filled with
ethnic arrogance, corporate greed,
political corruption and religious hypocrisy.
We have been given a great gift of intellect
but so few of us ever use it to understand
that the human race is all one species and
only by working together will we be able
to conquer the challenges that lay ahead.
These challenges are universal and call for
universal teamwork to solve them.
Scientists and a few visionaries understand
this, but that is simply not enough.
Our lack of ability to work together
going forward is our Achilles’ heel.
Because without that cooperation and the
useful synergies it can create we are,
quite simply, doomed to extinction.

A Story of Catching the Wind... and maybe a metaphor for success

Is there anything that invites nostalgia more than the thought of a spring fed pond? Long carefree days filled with the sounds of laughter and the endless escape into the cool water from the hot summer sun; a harmonious balance with nature - Except when it isn't.  · It seems a po ...

The Story of Patent Leather Shoes.

The door bell rang two times, stopped, then rang again. I wasn’t expecting anybody. Coming downstairs, I saw a shadow move across the frosted door pane, then hands formed on the glass near the edges where the beveling was clear. I looked out the living room window. A guy was ...

A Grand Story in the making... written for one.

This is a very interesting time of the year.  · A time to figuratively (and maybe even literally) stop to catch our breath, take stock, look around, and determine what the next year will (and should) be.  · A time to, whether we appreciate it or not, continue writing our story... ...
