THE WAR PLANNER SERIES 3 SPUDS (Amazon Books) ROA 3S THEWAR | PLANN aia Rl These are actually the first three of a six volume epic that has to do with a full scale Chinese invasion of the United States. We're talking total takeover. I'm currently in the middle of the second book and I'm finding this to be one of the very best that | have read in this genre. The writing is solid. The detail is incredible. And the amount of suspense that is created and pro- longed is something to marvel at. I have always admired authors who have been able to take on massive projects and pull them off. But in this genre, you see a lot of self-contained single volume stories, but not a lot that are this expansive and detailed over six books As you may well guess, Andrew Watts has a strong military background. He served as a naval officer and helicopter pilot from 2003 to 2013, flying count- er-narcotic missions in the Eastern Pacific and count- er-piracy missions off the Horn of Africa. He was a flight instructor in Pensacola, FL, and helped to run ship and flight operations on a nuclear aircraft carrier deployed in the Middle East. This guy knows his stuff. And if you like well written, nicely paced espionage/military themed sto- ries, you're not going to find a much more. interesting series than this.
