Life After Adobe

LIFE AFTER ADOBE As of this month, my Adobe subscnption will be done. This is software | used through most of my Onwords & Upwords years to design and produce the advertising and marketing materials | was creating. Since | am no longer actively looking for work, but still do graphic pieces like this one, | have taught myself how to get more out of my Pages word processing program. | was actually surprised at the capability it offers, and it came included with my iMac. In fact, | can do almost anything with Pages that | used to do with my Adobe InDesign program, except set up files for printing. But if | have to print anything, | just send it to the printer and pay for an hour or two of their time and they will build the file for me based on what | design in Pages. It took a while for me to learn how to use the Pages program for building graphics, but it's enabled me to drop a hundred a month that | was paying Adobe for a program | didn't really need anymore. The moral of this story is that there are many ways to skin a cat. All you have to do is look around. Sometimes the answer is nght in front of you.
