nl A 3 SPUDS (CRAVE) INTERWEB BLURB: A fantasy drama TV series based on the trilogy of novels of the same name by Philip Pullman. With Dafne Keen, Ruth Wilson, Anne-Marie Duff, Clarke Peters, and a bunchg of other folks. MY BLURB: I'm a big Philip Pullman fan from way back. But the quality of the production and the fact that Mr Pullman had a fairly large say in the goings on, is making this a real pleasure to watch. Basically it's the story of two different worlds and how they intersect. It follows the life of a young girl named Lyra, who is left at Oxford college as an infant and was raised there and then finally given to a rather mysterious women to complete her ‘education’. That's the basic setup, but the good parts are all the in between stuff, which is not just fascinating but done up lavishly to create a true fantasy tale. Mr Pullman has been writing about the char- acters in this series for years now. So far, beside this series (3 seasons), | have only seen The Gold- en Compass in movie form. So, hopefully he has been discovered. And there will be a lot more of his work adapted to TV or movies. His Dark Materials is the kind of story that you can definitely get lost in and it's so well done that you enjoy literally every second of the journey.
