- Provide research support and assist with various tasks throughout the research process such as data collection, entry, analysis, and draft reports.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, booking rooms, taking minutes, managing files and databases, and handling printing and photocopying.
- Review documents and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure research findings are shared through appropriate channels and formats for intended audiences.
- Observe acceptable standards for ethical and valid research practices.
- Currently studying in a post-secondary program in Social Sciences or a related field.
- Some experience in qualitative/quantitative methods, participatory action research, policy and evaluation research.
- Awareness of disability issues and community resources.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, public speaking, and group facilitation skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines effectively and reliably.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all Vecova team members.
- Represent Vecova in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative and enthusiasm.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate a high level of administrative and IT capacity.
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation.
