    About The Company

    Forge Recruitment is proudly partnered with our client, one of Canada's leading multi-service firms in the search of a Patent Assistant to join a busy practice. About The Role Supporting a busy partner, the successful candidate will:
    • Draft pro forma responses to official actions based on client instructions on patent files, prepare drafts of reporting letters, and format and finalize agreements
    • Handle inquiries from clients and internal contacts and independently prepare routine correspondence, involving professionals when necessary
    • Organize client requests and independently keep track of due dates and deadlines on upcoming patent files
    • Follow up with clients and / or foreign associates to ensure instructions are received on time; meeting all deadlines
    • Prepare accounts and manage pre-bills with working proficiency in accounting and billing procedures
    The Offer The successful incumbent will be eligible to receive a competitive remuneration package, commensurate with experience. Employees are currently working in-office 50% of the time and flexibility is offered based on the needs of the practice. What You Bring As the ideal candidate, you possess 4+ years' experience supporting a patent IP practice with patent prosecution experience (additional trademark, life sciences, or corporate law experience would be an asset). You possess working knowledge of Inprotech and CIPO online systems and are versed in the filing of Canadian, US, and PCT patent applications. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are an expert communicator. You have successfully attained a legal administrative certification or law clerk diploma through an accredited institution.
