    We're looking for an Operations Control Analyst to join our Business Service and Development team. As an Operations Controls Analyst, you will be assessing with control assessments, support our internal partners during internal and external audits including walkthrough support, evidence gathering, reviewing, and liaising with the audit teams.

    What will I be doing?

    You will join forces with other talented people to analyze business and key control needs and you will be responsible for risk management activities utilizing control assessments, providing access security governance and oversight, facilitating the development and adherence to key controls, and supporting our internal partners with internal and external audits. Then you start on the next challenge and do it again

    Your responsibilities would include:

  • Using your analytical skills and critical thinking to ask questions, understand our business drivers and needs to support controls reviews for business processes.
  • Assisting with business controls walkthroughs with stakeholders, to ensure appropriate focus on key controls. You'll provide Operations Leadership with timely consultation and recommendations on process improvements and controls gaps.
  • You're leading or supporting recurring processes including Access card reject management, Anti-Money Laundering reviews, CDIC dry-run, FATCA/CRS reporting, Interest rate exception oversight, Losses & Errors, and regulatory customer mailings. You coordinate the completion of annual compliance requirements or attestations.
  • Defining role-based system access profiles and partnering with business leaders for ongoing monitoring (using tools such as IIQ) for Manulife Bank staff and vendors.
  • Acting as a liaison with key Operations stakeholders and Audit (Internal and External), to review business processes and gather and review audit evidence documentation. You assist Operation teams with Audit or Corrective Action Plans, including reviewing evidence and updates prior to closure deadlines.
  • Supporting the Controls Officer with reviews of Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) for each business team within Manulife Bank.
  • You're a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) representing control processes and system access governance, working with our Bank Delivery Organization (squads) to ensure sufficient controls are in place.
  • Capitalizing on your ability to build and foster positive, effective relationships to strengthen your partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Using your strong communication skills to lead meetings and present information to all levels within the company.

  • University degree/diploma in Business, Economics, or Mathematics, and/or 2-3 years working experience, working as controls or business analyst preferably in financial services.
  • You are familiar with audit and corrective action plan processes and have a Financial Services/Banking background.
  • You understand controls frameworks and risk management practices.
  • You can gather information systematically and use accurate logic in analysis.
  • You are a strategic thinker with the ability to think conceptually beyond day-to-day business realities and to effectively consider downstream impacts.
  • You learn FAST. You pick up new ideas, concepts, technologies, and tools easily.
  • You are skilled with MS Office applications and tools including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerBI.
  • You have an approachable style that just makes people want to work with you - and that helps build great relationships between other people and groups.

  • You successfully manage competing priorities like a champion.
  • You maintain your composure and best-self during challenging times or challenging interactions.
