    Job Summary

    The Senior Manager for Production Control has overall accountability for the day-to-day activities of the Production Planning and Shipping Department including Packaging & Logistics, Service, Warehouse, External Warehouse.

    Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and implementing strategic objectives and goals supporting Operations.
  • Demonstrating the ability to develop and utilize data, metrics and continuous improvement tools to consistently achieve/exceed organizational objectives.
  • Driving transparency and standardized work throughout the inventory teams; while developing strategic improvement initiatives to meet long-range goals; assure implementation of these initiatives.
  • Building and manage an analytically driven team in asset & inventory management processes.
  • Establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality system (IATF) policies and procedures associated with inventory management, including management review of the quality system to determine its effectiveness.
  • Ensure effective administration of all company policies, procedures, programs, and systems.
  • Actively participate in New Product Development team and manage end-of-life to minimize scrap.
  • Perform Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual inventory management processes: audits, reports, cycle-counts and forecasts.
  • Assist director in all aspects of organizational objectives and support, including team morale and interface with senior leadership regarding solutions to complex issues.
  • Ensure objectives are met, balancing the needs of the business and the team, escalating as needed to remove barriers.
  • Leverage lean manufacturing methodologies to influence continuous improvement, sponsor project development, and execution; as well as, partner with business partners to streamline processes and foster cross-functional relationships.
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators to proactively ensure excellence.
  • Manage increasingly competing priorities and deadlines, providing outstanding support to our internal partners and external customers.
  • Strategic knowledge of cross-functional processes and quality impact throughout the value chain.
  • Develops tactical and functional improvement related initiatives to meet both short term and long term goals and assure implementation of these initiatives.
  • Responsible for managing any short shipments and expedites.
  • Oversee and facilitate operational compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Utilize Production Control KPI's to monitor department and plant performance and drive continuous improvement to exceed business plan targets and reduce waste.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead talent development within the Production Control department to create ownership and long-term sustainability.
  • Design and implement a safe and efficient material conveyance strategy (. reduction of forklifts, reduction of SDLC, overtime management).
  • Utilize pull system philosophy (Repetitive and Non-Repetitive Kanban) and Heijunka to manage flow of information and material, and constraint management.
  • Manage inventory and CIGMA ERP System.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper training and documentation for all employees within their department.
  • Participates on the Management Team in reviewing the Environmental Management Systems (EMS), the NPI Launch process, and improving first time quality.
  • Responsible for the staging and handling of production and non-production materials.
  • Responsible for assuring that the delivery, transportation, handling and storage of all materials are properly managed.
  • Responsible for maintaining information on use, storage and inventory of all production materials.
  • Embrace change and lead standardization and best practice implementations to develop seamless product or process development (. Material Planning & Logistics).
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Production Control leadership experience (management level) with proven capability to meet deadlines, targets and ensure Safety and Quality first.
  • In-depth knowledge of Production Control and Logistics terms and practices.
  • Experience with Program Management an asset (New Model Introduction).
  • Escalate items as needed to senior leadership, partnering to drive solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and utilize data, metrics and continuous improvement tools to consistently achieve departmental & organizational objectives.
  • Salary Range CAD $123,000-$154,000.
