    remote/anywhere, Ontario

    ca, a Jewish Canadian news site, seeks two journalists: a remote-based editor for a 35-hour per week and a contract journalist for about 10 hours per week .

    To illuminate the diverse tapestry of Jewish Canadian life, offering a platform for voices from all corners of the community.

    Catch News is where opinions and stories that have long been sidelined by mainstream Jewish media find a home. We're dedicated to uncovering the untold, to showcasing the myriad perspectives that shape our community. Catch will fill a crucial void in Jewish Canadian journalism, to keep readers informed, engaged, and inspired. Edit news articles to ensure accuracy, clarity and adherence to journalistic standards
    Oversee the team of sub-editors and set the direction of the site
    Experience as a print or online editor (5+ years)
    Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills
    Wide knowledge of the Canadian Jewish community
    Wide knowledge of the issues of concern of the community
    Experience with content management systems and digital publishing


    Assets:
    Jewish community involvement
    Canada-wide network of contacts and sources
    In addition to a resume, and two published writing samples of Jewish content, please respond to the following:
    What are two story ideas you'd want covered immediately, and which sources you would suggest to the writer?
    Include a picture of yourself with three Jewish books, and briefly write why they're meaningful to you
