NAIT Applied Research is working closely with Indigenous communities across Treaty 6, 7 and 8 to aid them in establishing environmental monitoring programs that fit their needs and which are sustainable. The goal of the program is for communities to gain control over monitoring the health and condition of their local environment and for the communities themselves to be able to develop data-enabled environmental stewardship strategies.

    • Project oversight through maintaining awareness of project obstacles, milestone completions, and resource needs and coordination of staff and students.
    • Program growth, overseeing and forecasting the number, type, and growth of project activity within the program. This requires balancing the skill sets and capacity of the staff with the emergent needs of community partners and making strategic decisions that guide the program toward greater capacity and revenue growth.
    • Partner engagement, with regular travel to remote communities expected

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Effective project management skills with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and in managing complex budgets
