Canadian Report April 29

THE CANADIAN REPORT (Friday April 29,2022 AD) Been looking at the weather now that May is just around the corner. And frankly it’s still too damn cold for me. This might be the time for a global warming joke. But judging from the number of conflicts going on here and there, I'd have to say that this issue has been shoved onto the back burner of the old stove out in the garage that doesn’t work anymore. There's so little that any of us can do about the wars that are going on. Or about the climate that's being observed all to hell but neglected badly. This stuff is all gonna come around and bit us all in the ass. One of the things I'm discovering about myself these days is that | no longer care about a lot of the stuff | used to care a lot about. Like sports, politics, the economy. War. | have a lot of trouble thinking about the world, because when | do | all | see is a downward spiral. | wish it wasn't that way, as I'm sure we all do. But it is what itis. | think something my son told me a while ago is starting to make the most sense. His philosophy is that he only pays attention to the things that interest him. So he watches cooking shows and videos about woodworking. He devotes as much time as he can spare to his family. He manages his bakery. And he makes beautiful things out of wood. It pleases me to no end to see that he has figured all this stuff out, and that the world won't drive him crazy. My life, which | am constantly working on, feels like this poem by William Wordsworth: The world is too much with us; late and soon Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers Little we see in Nature that is ours We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon The winds that will be howling at all hours And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers For this, for everything, we are out of tune It moves us not Great God! Id rather be A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn So might |, standing on this pleasant lea, Have glimpses that would make me less forforn Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea Or hear old Triton blow his wreathéd horn Checkin’ In From The Great White North AIWrkzen Content Copyright 2022.
