    Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Process and validate payroll information
  • Assist with the administration and processing of payroll activities
  • Issue Records of employment
  • Process, compile and submit Garnishments
  • Respond in a timely manner to colleagues on payroll matters involving both written and verbal communication
  • Process required profile changes (sick, vacation, hourly rates etc.) in compliance with Employment Standards Acts, Union Agreements, and Company Policies.
  • In depth understanding of over 400 Union Agreements
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • The candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in related field or willingness to enroll in payroll courses
  • A minimum of one year general office experience, preferably within a payroll environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS office products
  • Must be highly motivated with an ability to manage a large volume of work and effectively while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required
