    Acquired by Tidan in 2018, this hotel is located in the heart of the metropolis of Montreal.

    The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible through an underground passage adjacent to the Bell Centre and also via 1000 De La Gauchetière.

    This iconic Montreal hotel, with its 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, and 25 meeting rooms, was completely renovated in 2021 and can accommodate up to 1000 guests.

    If you are seeking a modern and stylish work environment, join the inspiring team of one of the largest downtown hotels in Montreal.

    Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Director of accounting is responsible for managing the hotel's accounting, including preparing financial statements, monitoring expenses, managing budgets and financial forecasts, and supervising the hotel's accounting team.

    He/she must ensure the accuracy of financial information and comply with accounting and tax standards.
    Trains and supervises accounting clerks;
    Ensure communication with the payroll and human resources coordinator;
    Verify accounts payable and expenses and approve checks to be issued;
    Verify billing between the hotel and its tenants;
    Verify customer account opening requests and follow up for accounts receivable collection;
    Prepare TPS, TVQ, and accommodation tax remittances;
    Analyze revenue and expense accounts to explain budget variances;
    Monthly reconcile CDN and US bank accounts as well as all other balance sheet accounts;
    Develop and implement procedures adapted to the company based on recommendations from the head office;
    A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    Membership in the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) association, an asset.
    Previous experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the hotel industry.
    Thorough knowledge of current accounting and tax standards.
    Great attention to detail and ability to manage numbers and data.
    Proficiency in computer tools, including accounting software and spreadsheets.
    Accounting software - HOPEM.

    Languages :

    Bilingualism (French and English) in both spoken and written form is required for this position, as we serve an international clientele.
