    Job Title: Director, Sales & Partnerships

    Location: Toronto, Canada; remote, with future transition to hybrid

    Reporting & Seniority:

    This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer, Connor Ritchie, and is open for potential promotion to Senior Director or Vice-President based on the candidate's experience.

    Position Overview:

    We are in search of a vibrant Director of Sales & Partnerships to steer our sales department and drive strategic partnership ventures. The ideal candidate should have a successful history of boosting revenue, fostering strong relationships, and nurturing high-performance teams. This position offers a thrilling chance to make a substantial impact on the growth, leadership, and triumph of our organization.

    Established in 2019 as Canada's favored hub for culturally significant content solutions, The Good Karma Co. introduced the UNINTERRUPTED brand to the Canadian market in collaboration with LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Drake. Since then, this sports and entertainment conglomerate has launched several other brands catering to various areas such as feature scripted and unscripted films, TV series, branded content, commercial assets, experiential activations, audio properties, media distribution, management consulting, and sponsorship representation. The Good Karma Co. has garnered notable accolades for its projects, including the TIFF People's Choice Award and a Critic's Choice Nomination for Black Ice, and a VIFF People's Choice Award for The Grizzlie Truth. The company's branded content and advertising work prioritizes exceeding client expectations over seeking awards.

    Expected Services:

    • Lead revenue generation through partnership sales across all content-related business lines.
    • Manage a Sales Pipeline Tracker and provide bi-weekly updates to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
    • Handle inbound sales requests and oversee Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions.
    • Explore and manage outbound sales opportunities, potentially in collaboration with the COO and/or the Chief Content Officer, Vinay Virmani.
    • Ensure client commitments align with content and distribution plans, functioning as an Account Manager for key partners.
    • Supervise and develop staff contributing to the sales function.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate product pricing and collaborate on creating new content formats to enhance sales and partnerships.
    • Optimize sales processes, materials, and inventory for increased revenue.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or Finance; MBA is a plus.
    • Over 10 years of experience in sales, partnerships, or business development, with expertise in the sports and entertainment industry being beneficial.
    • Demonstrated experience in selling storytelling and integrations across various platforms.
    • Proven record of driving revenue growth and establishing strategic partnerships.
    • Key soft skills: Leadership, negotiation, strategic thinking, communication, and presentation.
    • Proficiency in tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM systems, as well as familiarity with start-up or early-stage companies.
    • Understanding of agency-style business operations and the North American entertainment landscape.
    • Must have a sense of humour.
