THE CANADIAN REPORT (April4) Just noticed that good old Elon Musk, (sounds like a name for a men’s cologne), just bought 9.2% of Twitter, making him the largest single shareholder in the company. Almost immediately, the value of Twitter jumped by about 24%. And whoever said that the market was full of star humpers gets proven right again. It's anybody's guess what he wants to do with this. But you can bet your ass that Trump is trying madly to get him on the phone to see if he can get his lifetime ban lifted. Sounds like something stupid enough for Trump to do. I've never been much of a Twitter fan. A few years ago | did some direct marketing work for a lady whose business was providing famous quotes that would automatically be post- ed on Twitter so that users could keep their presence alive there in the spaces in between doing real posting. She gave me a subscription as part of my payment, so | get all these pithy quotes posted a couple times a day. Otherwise | only post links to my longer format blogs. But every once in a while | will open Twitter just to see what's going on. | can only take about a minute or so before my brain starts to ache. | never followed Trump there, but at the time, you didn't have to. All of his little Koolaid drinkers were happy to repost him. | remember thinking at the time that you'd have to be some very special kind of stupid to believe anything this guy was saying. It was like he had this view of reality that was so much the polar opposite of the real reality that it almost felt credible. It really confirmed the power of social media to me, as well as the willingness for people to believe almost any- thing that suited their world view, twisted and bent as that might be. Now | don't know if Elon Musk really has the power to change anything about Twitter. Or even if he would want to. It really has become its own dog as a propaganda tool.
