    As the Senior Network Analyst, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining secure data communications for all the Calgary Police Service (CPS) facilities by installing, maintaining and supporting a highly efficient, secure and available network. Primary duties include:

  • Develop and build Information Technology infrastructure and provide networking support to Information Technology Operations Section projects.
  • Perform upgrades and changes to the network and ensure network access and connectivity.
  • Review and coordinate requests for networking services.
  • Examine and resolve any network issues and review files for any security breaches or problems.
  • Oversee networking projects that collaborate with internal business units and external vendors.
  • Create and update network diagrams and documentation.
  • Configure and install network devices and technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls and WiFi.
  • Mentor other technical support areas regarding network systems and technologies,
  • Research, test and write business cases and apply new technologies.
    • Qualifications
  • A 2 year certificate or diploma in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 5 years of networking experience
  • Certification such as Network+, Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) or other certifications including wireless and cabling technologies is considered an asset.
  • Success in this position requires analytical thinking, change management, coaching and development, efficiency and thoroughness. An effective communicator with a focus on results and the ability to build strong relationships.
