MY FIRST SWIM IN TWO YEARS

Well it wasn’t pretty, and it wasn’t easy,
but today | got into the pool and was
determined to actually swim a width or two.

I was a little worried about cramping in my
mid section, which is now famous for that,
but I just said fuck it and went for it.

And it worked. | swam eight lengths with
Heather beside me making sure | didn’t
do anything stupid.

It’s been two years to the day since |
have actually swum. And it felt great.

Working my way up to lengths. But | know
I wll get there. Because | can see it
very clearly now. There’s a lot of be said
for visualizing, and | am living proof.

I want to jump in the pool again so much. It has been about 2 years also. I finally jumped in with my kids, but this was playing. I just want to do laps and see how far I can go. This is the only activity I know where I can move every part of my body.
